Most of us either suffer from low back pain, or know someone who does. It can be crippling. Often the pain is caused by muscle tension or strain. If that is the case, massage targeted at the specific muscles which most often lead to lower back pain can do wonders to relieve the pain and increase the range of motion. Often the Quadratus Lumborum, Erector Spinae and the Gluteus muscles are the catalysts for low back pain. A trained therapist can lengthen these tight muscles, release trigger points therein, and often reduce the accompanying pain. It is always a good idea to check with your doctor before massage if you are experiencing severe back pain to rule out disc herniation or other serious causes. If you suffer from lower back pain and need some relief, please make an appointment at your earliest convenience.
