Depending on the type of massage you receive, you may feel a little tired or sore. We usually suggest an extra glass or two of water to help your body stay hydrated. Many people feel like they have more energy and are even more alert in the days following a massage.
The only real reason to not get a massage is if you are sick. It wouldn’t be good if you have a cold, the flu or any kind of skin infection. If you are recovering from surgery, we may require written approval from your doctor before resuming your massages.
While most massage therapists, us included, do play spa relaxation music, it is not your only choice. If you have a musical preference please ask your therapist to see what else is available. Some even prefer no music. If you have music you want to listen to, ask if you can connect your phone and must for your session. Remember this is all about you and being able to relax to get the most out of your massage!
Sure, if you’d like to talk go right ahead. The important thing to remember is that this treatment is all about you relaxing and enjoying the experience. Many therapists discourage talking in hopes that you will relax, let your mind float free and enter a state of massage bliss.
In many instances, people may feel more relaxed starting off talking, and as the massage progresses, enter quiet states of relaxation.
The important issue here is that there are times when you need to speak up. If the therapist is doing anything to make you uncomfortable, you should let her/him know immediately. Also, let him/her know if you get too warm or too cold, if the room is too bright, or if the pressure needs to be changed (lighter or deeper). If something is not working for you – speak up! It’s OK!
No. We do not accept walk in clients. Please complete our online form, call or text to set up your appointment. We sometimes do have same day appointments available.
All of our appointments are by appointment only. We ask that you arrive no more than 10 minutes before our appointment.
Upon arriving we will have you complete an intake form. This will give us information about your current condition, medications, surgeries or health issues we may need to know about. It is also important to list any allergies so the therapist is aware if he/she needs to use a different oil or lotion during the session.
We always have our clients undress to their personal level of comfort. We provide proper draping and only uncover the area we are working. Please discuss this with your therapist if you are ever uncomfortable.
We can not make any promises even though many people have found relief from migraines with regular massages. Be sure to mention this to your therapist so they can customize your massage to help you get relief.
